Sticky Teriyaki Meatballs
Ingredients:
1 lb of pork
1 shallot, diced
1/2 cup of panko breadcrumbs
1 1/2 tbsp of minced garlic
1/4 of a carrot, grated
1 knob of ginger
1 egg
2 tbsp of green onion
3 tbsp of soy sauce
Seasonings: Garlic powder, black pepper, salt (optional)
Teriyaki sauce ingredients: 1/2 cup of hoisin sauce, 1/4 cup of rice vinegar, 3 tbsp soy sauce, 1 knob of ginger grated, 1 tbsp of minced garlic, and 1 tsp of sesame oil
Directions:
In a bowl add 1 lb of pork
Add 1/2 cup of panko breadcrumbs, 1 diced shallot, 1 1/2 tbsp of minced garlic, 1/4 cup of grated carrot, 1 knob of grated ginger, 1 egg, and 2 tbsp of green onion to a bowl.
Season with pepper, garlic powder, and salt.
Add 3 tbsp of soy sauce. Mix and shape your meatballs.
Bake in the oven at 450 degrees for 15 minutes. Flip meatballs and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Teriyaki sauce: Add 1/2 cup of hoisin sauce, 1/4 cup of rice vinegar, 3 tbsp soy sauce, 1 knob of ginger grated, 1 tbsp of minced garlic, and 1 tsp of sesame oil to a pan. On low-medium heat allow the sauce to thicken.
Once the sauce has thickened add the cooked meatballs back into the pan and mix until fully coated.
Garnish with green onion & sesame seeds!
